Recognizing the importance of holistic care, she also equips her patients with simple coping skills and mindfulness exercises, empowering them to continue their healing journey between sessions.

"In the dance of therapy, where shadows meet resilience, EMDR emerges as the silent orchestrator, guiding the wounded soul towards its own symphony of healing. Mental health, a journey of courage, finds its compass in the transformative whispers of EMDR, rewriting the narrative of pain into a tale of resilience and strength. Within the rhythmic cadence of therapeutic moments, the mind transcends, embracing the power to heal itself."

Barbara Hampton is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern who brings warmth, compassion, and a down-to-earth approach to therapy. With seven years of experience in the mental health field, she has worked with individuals, couples, and families navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, addiction and recovery, and major life transitions.
Barbara holds a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University and is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). Her trauma-informed approach also incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, attachment-based approaches, and other evidence-based techniques tailored to each client’s individual needs and goals.
Barbara believes that therapy is about more than techniques—it is about creating a relationship where clients feel genuinely heard, understood, and safe enough to explore what may be keeping them stuck. Her approach recognizes that many of the patterns people develop are ways of surviving difficult experiences. Through therapy, she helps clients better understand these patterns, reconnect with their strengths, and develop healthier ways of moving forward.
She works with preteens, teens, adults, and older adults and provides support for individuals, couples, and families. Barbara is especially passionate about helping clients understand how past experiences may continue to influence their emotions, relationships, and sense of self in the present.
Whether you are working through trauma, struggling with anxiety or depression, experiencing grief or relationship challenges, or navigating a significant life transition, Barbara provides a supportive and nonjudgmental environment where you can begin where you are. Her goal is to help clients reconnect with themselves, recognize their resilience, and work toward a life that feels more peaceful, authentic, and fulfilling.
